José Romeu opened a florist's shop on the old Rambla Castelar in 1905, the section of Rambla Nova that is currently between Sant Agustí Street and the Balcó del Mediterrani. José Romeu also worked as a gardener for the Tarragona City Council and one year luck smiled on him and he won the lottery. Of the two pesetas he had invested, he won 1,500. He invested this money in buying land where he would build what is still the family home and the workshop and another florist's shop on the Cemetery Road.

Their children, Dolors and Josep Romeu, would continue with the family business and so would their granddaughter, Josepa Iglesias Romeu. Josepa's three children would also dedicate themselves to the flower business and, in fact, expand it. Josep Amigó Iglesias would take over the shop near the cemetery, Dolors Amigó would open one at Rambla Vella number 37 (it is the only one that is not preserved) and Tecla Amigó would open the kiosk that is still there today in Plaça Verdaguer. Four generations of florists who would be followed by Sefa Mohedano who, at only 15 years old, would open a kiosk in the middle of Rambla Nova, next to Carrer Comte de Rius. Five generations later the business is still more alive than ever to offer you the same personalized and attentive service as always but with the convenience of online sales.
